CHEMICAL STRUCTURE
It has an anionic character, a high
concentrated solution of special oil alcohol sulfates in suitable
solvents.
EFFECT AND THE
FIELD OF APPLICATION
As SEMSOL - S
is a good surface active agent, it increases pigment wetting, and is an
effective anti settling agent used in every type of paints even in low
viscosity and heavy pigments containing paints.
Suitable for the following systems:
Semsol – S
is NOT suitable for the following systems.
SEMSOL – S
is used with many pigments and fillers like barit,
calcite, talk, litapon, titan diokside, inorganic and organic. It is not
recommended to use in metalic pigments like alluminium paints and zinc
powder.
SEMSOL - S doesn't effect the paints properties like gloss, flow,
drying, stickness. Doesn't affect with the heat formed by pigment
diffusion. As it has an anionic structure, we do not recommend to use
with agents containing cationic structure. It can be used alone or with
surface active substances.
SEMSOL – S must be added to the mill base to improve effectiveness.
The addition while producing pigment paste gives the best result.
It can be used in preparing benton gels
as shown in the below formulation:
85-87 of weight solvent
(white spirit, xylene, toluol)
8-10 of weight organophilic
bentonite
5-3 of weight SEMSOL S
Total weight 100
RECOMMENDED DOSAGE
It changes
over finished paint between 0.1% and 0.5% . In presence of heavy
pigments it may be %1. It is suitable to find the best dosage by starting from the minimum
amount and increase the amount slowly.
STORAGE
SEMSOL S
can be stored for 1 year in closed package at room temperature in a dry
place.
